Built for dependable communication between the course and your
learning platform.
Course-to-LMS communication
SCORM lets the course and LMS understand each other.
A course can look perfect and still fail after launch if its
completion rules, publishing settings or LMS communication are
configured incorrectly.
Select a data type below to see what travels from the course into
the learning management system.

Completion reporting
Did the learner complete the course?
The course reports completion after the learner meets the defined
completion requirement, such as viewing enough slides, completing
an interaction or passing an assessment.

Available reporting depends on the course logic, publishing
settings, SCORM version and capabilities of the receiving LMS.
Choosing a publishing standard
The right format depends on your LMS—not what happens to be newest.
We match the publishing standard to your platform, tracking
requirements and reporting environment so the finished course
works reliably after launch.
01
Broadest compatibility
SCORM 1.2
A widely supported standard for tracking course completion,
scores, bookmarking and time spent.
Best when
You need dependable tracking across a broad range of learning
management systems.
Watch for
Its status model and available space for stored course data
are more limited.
02
More detailed status
SCORM 2004
Separates completion from success and can support more detailed
reporting and sequencing behaviour.
Best when
Your LMS specifically supports SCORM 2004 and the project
needs more precise status reporting.
Watch for
Support and implementation can vary between different LMS
platforms and versions.
03
Broader activity data
xAPI
Captures flexible learning activity statements, including
experiences that may happen outside a traditional course.
Best when
You have compatible infrastructure and need richer or more
flexible learning activity data.
Watch for
xAPI may require a compatible LMS or learning record store
and a clear reporting plan.
We verify your LMS requirements before recommending a publishing
standard.
SCORM troubleshooting
Start with what the learner sees.
Choose a common SCORM problem to see how we trace it across the
course, package and LMS.

What is going wrong?
Testing path
Trace the launch from package to LMS.
We check whether the failure begins inside the published package,
during LMS import or when the platform tries to open the course.
01
Course build
Confirm the correct launch file was published.
02
SCORM package
Inspect the manifest, structure and package settings.
03
LMS launch
Test the import, security and browser behaviour.
We isolate the failed handoff before changing the course.

LMS testing and quality assurance
Tested where it matters: inside your LMS.
Publishing a SCORM package is only the beginning. We test how
the course launches, behaves and reports before it reaches your
learners.
01
Import and launch
We verify that the package imports cleanly and opens
without launch, browser or security errors.
02
Learner behaviour
We test navigation, completion, assessment results,
bookmarking and resume functionality.
03
Reporting and handoff
We confirm that completion, scores and progress appear
correctly before delivering the LMS-ready files.
Testing is matched to the LMS access and technical requirements
available for your project.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about SCORM, answered.
Straightforward answers about SCORM standards, LMS testing,
troubleshooting and what to expect from your project.
01
What is SCORM and what information can it track?
SCORM is a technical standard that allows an eLearning course
to communicate with a compatible learning management system.
It helps the LMS launch the course and record learner activity.
Depending on the course and publishing settings, SCORM can
report completion, pass or fail status, assessment scores,
time spent and bookmarking information.
02
Should we use SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or xAPI?
The right standard depends on what your LMS supports and what
your organization needs to track. SCORM 1.2 remains widely
supported, while SCORM 2004 can provide more detailed status
reporting when implemented correctly.
xAPI can capture broader learning activity data but may require
a compatible LMS, learning record store and reporting setup. We
verify your technical requirements before recommending a format.
03
Can you repair an existing SCORM course that is not working?
Often, yes. We can review the available course files, publishing
settings and LMS behaviour to determine whether the problem is
inside the course, the SCORM package or the learning platform.
Depending on what we find, the best solution may be a publishing
adjustment, a targeted repair or a rebuild of part of the course.
We diagnose the problem before recommending the scope.
04
Can you test the course directly in our LMS?
Yes, when appropriate testing access is available. We can test
the package inside your LMS to verify launch behaviour,
completion, scoring, bookmarking and learner resume behaviour.
If direct LMS access is not available, we can still validate
the package in an appropriate SCORM testing environment and
provide guidance for your internal LMS administrator.
05
How much does SCORM development or troubleshooting cost?
Cost depends on the condition of the existing files, the length
and complexity of the course, the required reporting behaviour
and the amount of LMS testing involved.
We review the available materials and technical requirements
before recommending a scope, so you are not paying for a larger
rebuild when a focused repair will solve the problem.
